Objective
:

This travel course is intended to introduce the student to the historical, social and religious world of ancient Syria in the Old and New Testament periods. Particular attention will be given to the historical figures and community that resided in the region, which provide the background for the Biblical narrative.

           The student will actively participate in the Syria field trip and keep a daily journal that will be submitted at the conclusion of the trip. The daily journal should include brief descriptions and/or sketches of sites visited that day, information and encounters, and the student’s reflections on how the experiences of that day have impacted their reading of the Bible (25%).
